MONROVIA – Monrovia Resident in Training for Competition after Car Accident

Joei Harrison of Monrovia will be competing in the Spartan Death Race next week in Vermont.  The Spartan Death Race is a mentally and physically challenging competition where contestants must endure hiking, running, swimming, carrying heavy objects for hours, and crawling under barbed wire through mud.  Few people who enter the race actually finish.

Just eight years ago, Harrison survived a fatal car accident, where she suffered a shattered right arm.  Harrison spent years in rehabilitation to regain the use of her arm and also had to learn how to speak again due to significant brain damage suffered in the accident.
